South African startup Giraffe (@Giraffe_Jobs), a low cost automated recruitment platform for medium-skilled workers, recently launched automated candidate voice screening. According to Giraffe’s blog – “Candidates that qualify for a position are invited to take a voice assessment via SMS.”
This got us thinking about how South African jobseekers would feel about receiving automated calls to screen them for jobs, as well the other ways that recruiters are using new technology to contact candidates such as text messaging and video calling.
So on this week’s #JobAdviceSA chat we are going to be asking our community their thoughts on these 21st century recruiting techniques. Here are the questions:
Q1. How comfortable would you be if you received an automated call to screen you for a job?
Q2. How do you feel about recruiters contacting you via text, i.e. Messenger, SMS & WhatsApp?
Q3. What would you think if you found out that you had been messaging a chatbot instead of a recruiter?
Q4. What can you expect from a WhatsApp video call interview? (This question comes via @IamSithembile)
Join us at 4pm to get the answers from the community to the above questions by following the hashtag #JobAdviceSA as well as the @JobAdviceSA Twitter account and our host @TimJBarry
You can answer any the questions using A1, A2, A3, etc, or ask any other questions you might have, using the hashtag #JobAdviceSA.
