Since the dawn of the 21st century more and more jobseekers have created online profiles on job websites and professional networking platforms like LinkedIn, but the humble CV document remains the most important tool to help you find a job. Having a good CV is so crucial that it can mean the difference between being shortlisted for your ideal job and being overlooked in favour of other candidates who do not have half the skills and experience that make you perfect for the role.
In order to help all the jobseekers in the #JobAdviceSA community create or update their CV to give them the best chance of being successful in their job search our special guest Ennie Chipembere will be hosting a live CV workshop where you can edit your CV and ask questions in real-time. Here are the five areas she will be covering:
Q1: What is your advice about the “look and feel” of a CV? E.g. contact details, length, picture, font, grammar, alignment, text size, online links, headings, bullets, design, CV templates, format etc
Q2: What should be in the Personal Profile/ Executive Summary section of the CV? What do recruiters want to see here?
Q3: What are the “do’s” and “don’ts” of the Key Skills Section?
Q4: How best should candidates present the “Experience and Employment History” section of the CV for them to be picked?
Q5: What’s your advice about the “Education and Training” section of the CV?
Join us at 4pm on Monday 2nd March to get the answers to the above questions by following the hashtag #JobAdviceSA as well as the @JobAdviceSA Twitter account and our special guest host @EnnieChipembere
