#JobAdviceSA Social Media | Which | How & Why

Greetings All!

Following on from last week’s chat where we spoke about constantly making ourselves more employable, I am completely the final level Recruitment Qualification that you can get in South African.  I am doing this through our governing body – APSO, they are regulars on #JobAdviceSA so you may have heard of them already?

Part of this qualification is to submit a Research paper based on something topical in the Recruitment Industry. Naturally I chose to base mine on the effect of Social Media on the world of Recruitment. I have set up two sets of questions, one for Job Seekers and one for Recruiters.

Today’s #JobAdviceSA questions are taken directly from my Survey. I will be sending you a link during this afternoon’s chat to a Survey Monkey site where I kindly request that you answer 9 simple questions for me on your Job Seeking exploits! I really appreciate your help with this! Thanks in advance!

Here are today’s questions:

  • Which social media platforms do you have a presence on? Which ones are there to help you to advance your career?
  • Do you belong to any professional groups or business networks online to raise your individual profile in your chosen space?
  • Have you ever removed any pictures or tidied up your social media profiles while you were on the job market?
  • Do you add links to your social media accounts on your CV? Why should you do this?
